Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation

Handicapped students may be eligible for educational assistance from the Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation. Assistance may be provided for tuition, fees, and books. For those students living away from home, consideration for assistance may be made for room and board. Contact the nearest BVR office for additional information.

Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA)

WIOA provides services such as training, education, employment assistance, and other support assistance for adults over 18 years of age and dislocated workers. Clients must meet eligibility criteria and training/education has to be for an in-demand occupation. CCMEP

CCMEP is an innovative program that can help low-income young adults aged 14 to 24 build career paths, find employment, and break the cycle of poverty. It offers personalized case management, educational support, career exploration, work experience opportunities, job placement assistance, and other services tailored to each individual's needs. CCMEP empowers participants to overcome barriers and achieve long-term success in their education and careers.

Kibble Foundation

Application Deadline May 15, 2022

Kibble Foundation Scholarship is open to students planning to attend WSCO, OSU, OU, University of Rio Grande, Rio Grande Community College, Marietta College, or Hocking College and is a graduate of a Meigs County High School (including residents of Meigs County's Columbia Township who graduate from Alexander High School).

Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce

Must be postmarked or delivered by April 15th, 2023.

The scholarships will be used to help students from Washington and Wood Counties that want to remain in the area and either learn a trade or earn a degree. The scholarships are set aside for students attending the Washington County Career Center, Washington State College of Ohio, or Marietta College. The primary goal of this scholarship program is to help students break the cycle of poverty, raise their standard of living, and to contribute to the betterment of the community and our economy.

Marietta Community Foundation

McCann Scholarship

J. Bryan and Norma R. McCann Charitable and Educational Trust is a scholarship available to graduating seniors and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year college students who are graduates of Fort Frye High School or any public or private high school in Washington County, Ohio.

For consideration, students must submit the following by April 15, 2024:

New applicants must also provide:

  • At least two Letters of Recommendation
  • Evidence of acceptance to school
