MARIETTA, OHIO (September 5, 2018)–The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series at Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) in collaboration with the Washington State Foundation, the Schwendeman Agency, Inc., and the Marietta Community Foundation, announce the first performance of its 20th anniversary celebratory season, The Cashore Marionettes.

The performance will be presented on Saturday, September 15, 2018, at 7:30 pm, in Graham Auditorium, located in the Arts & Sciences building on the campus of WSCO. Admission to the performance is free and no reservations are required, however, please be mindful that seating is limited.

The Cashore Marionettes are the creation of designer and puppeteer Joseph Cashore. The performance is a series of scenes taken from everyday life and set to beautiful music by composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi, Strauss, and Copland. Through a combination of virtuoso manipulation, humor, pathos, classical music, and poetic insight, The Cashore Marionettes take the audience on a journey that celebrates the richness of life

Joseph Cashore has been designing and performing his remarkable marionettes for more than 30 years. His marionettes are engineering marvels and the quality of movement is extraordinary. He masterfully creates characters of depth, integrity, and humanity giving audiences an evening unlike anything else in theater today. He has received several distinguished awards, including a Citation of Excellence, the highest honor an American puppeteer can receive, from UNIMA-USA, the oldest international theater organization in the world.
