MARIETTA, Ohio (November 2, 2017) – The Mid-Ohio Valley Veterans Outreach (MOVVO) in partnership with Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO), will host a FREE Veterans Resource Fair on Thursday, November 16 from 4 pm to 7 pm.
This annual event is designed to educate Veterans on the benefits and resources available to them. Organizations from throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley will be present to provide assistance and answer questions about the vast array of resources that are available to Veterans, including Veterans Affairs, Ohio and West Virginia Veteran Service officers, American Legion, Ohio Department of Veteran Services, Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and The Vet Center.
There will also be a mobile clinic at the event where Veterans can get a free flu shot and receive assistance in setting up VA healthcare. Veterans need to be sure to have their DD214 in order to participate.
“This is a great opportunity for our Veterans to make contacts and network with local agencies that provides them with valuable services,” explained Ren’ee Rector, Assistant Director of Advising/Veteran Certifying Official at WSCO and MOVVO member.
“Our goal in planning this event is to make sure we have provided our Veterans with access to resources they may not know exist,” said Rector.
The event will be held on the campus of WSCO in the Commons area of the Main Building on Thursday, November 16 from 4 pm to 7 pm. Questions about the Resource Fair or about MOVVO, contact Ren’ee Rector at 740.374.8716.
The evening will include free a meal provided by the local VFW Post 5108 with beverages contributed by American Legion Post 64. There will also be door prizes donated by local businesses from throughout the Mid-Ohio Valley.
“This is a great opportunity for our local Veterans to come out to a family-friendly Veteran event, enjoy a delicious free meal and obtain a lot of very useful information,” concluded Rector.
MOVVO is a non-profit group of volunteers who work with, or are actively involved in, Veterans service organizations. Among the group’s free services, they help Veterans understand and get all the benefits they are eligible for including: education, job search and healthcare.
