Pumpkins, food, and fun—oh my! WSCO’s Pumpkin Chuckin' is back and bigger than ever! Join us for the second annual Pumpkin Chuckin' event, where we’re providing the trebuchet for you to launch your jack-o'-lanterns into the sky—way more fun than letting them rot at home!
No pumpkin? No problem—we’ve got free pumpkins for everyone. Come together with the community for an afternoon packed with games, delicious food truck treats, and pumpkin-flinging excitement. Perfect for families, friends, and anyone ready for some fall fun! With live music and plenty of activities, this is one event you don’t want to miss!
What is Pumpkin Chuckin'?
Welcome to the thrilling world of Pumpkin Chuckin'! This exciting recreational activity and competitive sport takes inspiration from medieval trebuchets to launch pumpkins into the sky, aiming for maximum distance or precision. Instead of letting leftover jack-o'-lanterns go to waste, people gather to see how far their pumpkins can fly. After the fun, the pumpkins are left for the deer and other wildlife on campus to enjoy, with any remaining pieces naturally composting back into the earth. It's a family-friendly event that celebrates the fall season in a sustainable and exciting way!
High School Catapult Cornhole Contest
This year, we’re taking the fun to the next level by inviting high schools, youth groups, and young adults to team up for an epic Catapult Cornhole contest! Build your own catapult (or use ours) to launch five cornhole bags at a giant 4’ x 8’ board, 200 feet away. The winning team will score a $200 gift card and the first-ever Catapult Cornhole championship belt!
Contestants for the Catapult Cornhole contest must pre-register and bring tools for fixes. Send email to bharris1@wscc.edu to register.
Deadline for registration: October 20
