MARIETTA, OHIO —Washington State College of Ohio will hold its 49th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14 at 10 a.m. at the Marietta College Dyson Baudo Recreation Center. Local business leader and longtime WSCO supporter will serve as commencement speaker and Abby Crock will deliver the student address.
Archer is the Chairman of the Board for Pioneer Group, a corporation that includes more than 20 different businesses with more than 300 employees and is one of the largest full-service construction, maintenance, and fabrication companies in the Midwest.
As a community leader, Archer has made a tremendous impact on the Mid-Ohio Valley. He has served on numerous committees and boards including the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce, Southeastern Ohio Port Authority, Marietta Noon Rotary, Peoples Bank, Washington State College of Ohio Foundation, Parkersburg-Marietta Contractors Association, National Industrial Maintenance Policy Committee, Washington County Teen Career Awareness Board, Washington County Career Center Welding Program, United Way, and Artsbridge.
Crock is graduating from WSCO’s nursing program. In the pursuit of her Associate Degree in Nursing, she maintained a 4.0 GPA, is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, and was selected as the March 2022 Student of the Month. A resident of Caldwell, she and her husband of 19 years, Ryan, have three teenage daughters: Zoey, Macy, and Jacy. Following graduation, she plans to work as a registered nurse at Camden Clark Medical Center.
