MARIETTA, OHIO —The Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) Foundation recently hosted its annual donors’ reception where they unveiled a Lifetime of Giving Honor Roll display.
The Foundation hosts the annual event to thank its supporters as well as introduce the 2019 Distinguished Alumni. This year, Cody Meglio was recognized for his Outstanding Professional Achievement and Tyler Heddleston for his Outstanding Community Service. The event included the recognition of those whose financial support has reached specific levels. Contributions were divided into five categories.
“We want to recognize those whose lifetime of generosity has significantly impacted our community,” said Amanda Herb, WSCO’s Vice President of Institutional Advancement.
The Pathways Society recognizes those whose lifetime giving ranges from $10,000 to $24,999. Honored are: Advantage Bank, American Association of University Women, Cleveland Foundation, Benjamin and Shirley Ebersole, Bradley and Gail Ebersole, Farm Credit Services of Mid-America, Steven J. Feldmaier, Glenwood Community, Norman and Mary Haessly, Charlotte Hatfield, HCR ManorCare Foundation, A.D. Heddelson Family, Kraton Polymers, John and Jane O’Brien, Ohio River Border Initiative, Frieda M. Owen, Deborah Patrick, Christopher and Nicola Penrose, Faith Perrizo, Paul E. Richards, Tim and Laurie Strahler, and Mildred Von Brock.
The Milestone Society recognizes those whose lifetime giving ranges from $25,000 to $49,999. Honored are: AEP Ohio, Ray and Kimberly Blackburn, Daniel K. Graham, Glen and Jeanette Hale, Ronald and Louise Holmes, Marietta Community Foundation, Mark and Terry Nutter, Pioneer Family Automotive Group, Peter Polites and Virginia Mayle, Sisters Health Foundation, Inc., Darryl and Cynthia Ting, and Zonta Club of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
The Cornerstone Society recognizes those whose lifetime giving ranges from $50,000 to $99,000. Honored are: Bernard McDonough Foundation, Inc. and Schwendeman Agency, Inc.
The Visionary Society recognizes those whose lifetime giving ranges from $100,000 to $249,999. Honored are: David and Arlene Archer, Henry G. Goehring, Jr., and Peoples Bank.
The Founders’ Society recognizes those whose lifetime giving ranges $250,000 or greater. Honored is John F. Greacen, Jr.
Herb explained that the work accomplished by the Foundation is only possible because of their donors. “Their support of the Foundation has touched countless lives and has made it possible to provide our students with over $1.5 million in scholarships, student support, and program enhancements,” she elaborated. “Without the contributions from our donors, a college education simply would not be possible for many of our students.”
Chris Penrose, who along with his wife Nicola Penrose established the Morgan County Scholarship, said as he has gotten older, he has prioritized people over objects. “What gives you the most reward in life, it’s not material things; it’s giving back to the community and giving to people who are trying to succeed in life.”
