MARIETTA, OH (June 18, 2018) — The Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Sarah Parker-Clever has been selected as the College’s new Vice President of Academic Affairs.
“Sarah is going to make a good addition to our leadership team,” said WSCO President Dr. Vicky Wood. “She has a strong academic background in instruction and curriculum, including new program development. She is a leader who works well with faculty to advance student success.”
Parker-Clever is currently serving as Dean of Arts, Business and Sciences at Hocking College in Nelsonville, OH. Previously, she taught at Wytheville Community College, in Virginia. Presently, she is working toward her Doctorate of Education in Educational Administration at Ohio University. She earned her Masters of Arts in English, as well as her Bachelors of Arts in English from Virginia Tech.
She has been actively engaged in both the Ohio Association of Community Colleges’ (OACC) Student Success Leadership Institute and Ohio Department of Higher Education (ODHE) initiatives. She has led faculty in implementing guided pathways, co-requisite remediation, and Open Educational Resources.
“I have been so impressed by the Washington State campus, faculty, and staff,” said Parker-Clever. “I am very excited to have this opportunity to serve the mission and join the team.”
Parker-Clever will assume her role on July 9, 2018, following the retirement of the current Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. Mark Nutter, who is retiring after 25 years at WSCO.
