MARIETTA, OHIO—Washington State College of Ohio (WSCO) is hosting a free workshop to help current and prospective students learn about state and federal financial aid programs and complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Financial Aid Workshop will be held on Sunday, March 14 at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public, regardless of where students plan to attend college.
During the workshop, representatives from WSCO’s financial aid department will offer guidance to students and their families who are considering enrollment in college this fall. In addition to explaining the financial aid process, they will also discuss the importance of filing the FAFSA, the form used by all two- and four-year colleges and universities to determine eligibility for federal and state grants, work-study programs, subsidized and unsubsidized student loans and some scholarships.
The workshop will be held in the Community Room located in the main building on WSCO’s campus, located at 710 Colegate Dr. in Marietta. Registration is required and can be done by calling 740-568-1908 or by visiting wscc.edu/fa-night. In accordance with local health department regulations, social distancing will be observed, masks will be required, and the college asks that only one support person or parent attend with each FAFSA applicant.
Applicants will need to have their social security number or alien registration number (if you are not a U.S. citizen), driver’s license, 2019 federal tax return, W-2s, and other records of money earned, know your balance of cash, your savings and checking accounts, records of investments and any untaxed income (if applicable), access to their personal email account, and their FSA ID and password, if one has already been created. Additionally, a dependent student will need a parent to complete the parent section of the FAFSA with the above information and should have the above items with them.
